20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Voyage remake appears to be back on track and “actively moving forward”, says producer James Cameron. The movie seemed certainly dead and ready to lose another director, after already losing Paul Greengrass who was attached to direct the movie, but dropped out.

He has been replaced by Real Steel director Shawn Levy, but it seemed he too was about ready to leave the project as he is in...

Hawthorn's new deal, and the North Melbourne plan to play in Tasmania has many saying “Tasmania's AFL Push is dead in the water,” It's hard to disagree with that, until you take into account that Greater Western Sydney, and Gold Coast are going to need their time to stand on their own two feet.

It would be a mistake for the AFL to rush another new side, or two sides into the AFL, while Greater Western Sydney, and Gold Coast are so new. Tasmanians have to realise that, while they think they are not going to get a side soon, they have the chance now to show the AFL why they deserve a side.

Every year the AFL brings in a new rule for the NAB Cup and every year most clubs don't seem to really pay that much attention to the NAB Cup. This season, the AFL welcomes Greater Western Sydney and Gold Coast into the NAB Cup. In what will feature a brand new format, AFL's version of "Twenty20" 3 games in the one evening, over a round robin tournament.

The AFL will proclaim themselves innovative, however they are not, in fact as a junior footballer I played in the same round robin style tournament at Brighton. Am also proud to say my team won that tournament. The then Tasmanian State...

The AFL are looking at introducing a brand new concept to be known as either the Champions League, or Premiers League, which will see teams from regional leagues fight it out in what the AFL is trying to sell as a Champions League/FA Cup style tournament. This however is not a new concept, as the then VFL used to have what was once called the Club Championship of Australia tournament.

Between 1972 and 1975 the premier teams of South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia, together with either the Tasmanian state champions (1972-73 and '75) or a composite team of players drawn from...

Crisis meetings are being held on the North West Coast to figure out how Burnie are going to weather the storm of players walking out on the club. The Dockers started out strongly in the TSL last season before they fell away, and then they were bundled out of the TSL Finals in straight sets.

acob Hislop joined an ever growing list of players leaving the club he has signed with Eastern Football League club Doncaster in Victoria. Jaye Bowden has topped off another massive year, but winning his very first Roy Cazaly Medal, Bowden becomes the first son of a former Glenorchy play to capture the medal. Bowden firmed as the favourite for the medal late in the season, but a new contender had appeared for the medal, Simon Spencer who like expected came the runner up.

It's been a big couple of years for the young Magpie, he drew some big interest from VFL clubs over the summer break last year. But Bowden who was also expected to take some time overseas stayed with the Magpies, and also stepped into the role of Community...

The push for a Tasmanian side in the A League grows with the voice of the World Game, Les Murray putting his name up there in support. Tasmania has been pressing for a license in either the AFL, or A League for the last few years. Even back in the early years of the League, Tasmania was close to getting together a bid.

A Hobart millionaire was willing to put up the money to support the start up of a side, and the Tasmanian Government have said they would support a push for the license if the AFL rejected the bit for a Tasmanian side. The Tasmanian Cricket Association are even trying...

The new controversial five week TSL Finals Series has finally reached it's climatic end with the Tasmanian State League Grand Final. As expected Clarence made the Grand Final without much fuss, they managed to cruise past Launceston twice in the finals with the only trouble coming in the third quarter of the 1st Qualifying final when the Blues started their fight back but then it was smooth sailing for the reigning premiers, and the favourites who have been the bookies favourite for most of the season.

But now we come to the surprise. Everyone expected that Launceston and Clarence were...

The Western Bulldogs are again facing another disappointing season as injuries start to stack up, belted twice before this weekend the Dogs have lost Brad Johnson until week 2 of the finals, Dale Morris' season is over, the Dogs will be missing Higgins as well and Adam Cooney's seas is over. The Akermanis affair is still going strong as he lays boots into his former team.

A season that has promised so much for the Dogs has started to slip away, the Western Bulldogs are a team that has not made an AFL Grand Final since 1961. The Western Bulldogs, who were then known as Footscray lost...
