Jaye Bowden has topped off another massive year, but winning his very first Roy Cazaly Medal, Bowden becomes the first son of a former Glenorchy play to capture the medal. Bowden firmed as the favourite for the medal late in the season, but a new contender had appeared for the medal, Simon Spencer who like expected came the runner up.

It's been a big couple of years for the young Magpie, he drew some big interest from VFL clubs over the summer break last year. But Bowden who was also expected to take some time overseas stayed with the Magpies, and also stepped into the role of Community coordinator
after former coordinator Glenn Balmforth left the Magpies and headed to the Demons.

After a season which saw some senior members leave the club, some players injured, and a straight sets finals loss, the Magpies were glad to finally have some good news when Muir and Cox re-signed with the club. Also announcing their new coach, Byron Howard as well, Bowden and Spencer were massive contributors to the Magpies this season.

Ruckman Simon Spencer has also had a massive year this year, Spencer returned to the Magpies after a year back at the Northern Bombers in the NTFL. Once the TSL's revival came around he rejoined the Magpies.

In other awards announced at the Cazaly Medal Night, Nathan Matthews, who was the most consistent this season for the Magpies. He was named the most consistent this year for Glenorchy, he's a young player on the rise and has not done himself any harm to become a future leader of the club.

Braden Barwick was awarded the Most Improved award this season, he even managed to crack into the Glenorchy senior side this season.

Brayden Webb, who has really come into his own this season, was awarded the GW Long Memorial award, for being the most effective player this season. The former member of the New Norfolk Football Club crossed over to the Magpies, and has started to make himself known.

He's still only young, but a bright future is already starting to form at the club, he's managed to get his name in the bests for the Pies, managed to get a lot of possessions, and not only that he's used them well.

Another bright young player, Jimmy Webster who came to the club from Brighton won the Trevor Sprigg memorial award, as most potential player. Webster has already caught the eye of the AIS Academy and he's off to there for 2 years, he suffered some setbacks this season, managed to impress for Tasmania, and Glenorchy and he's been rewarded at the AIS Academy.

Daniel Joseph has also started to put his hand up for selection in the senior side this year, and the young man has walked away with the Ian Carter Memorial Award, awarded to the best first year player at the club. Not only did young Joseph walk away with this one, but he won the Best in finals award as well.

In the reserves who came close to playing in the TSL Reserves Grand final, Kyle Smith won the Best and Fairest award. The runner up was returning Cal Garvey who won the Reg Rainbow Memorial Award, Cal was also judged Best in Finals this season, he is off to Country NSW to play, we wish him well.

Best team award this year, known as the Peter Sharples Memorial Award was awarded to Scott Jones, another Bowden featured in the awards, this time Tyler Bowden was awarded the Encouragement Award. Matthew Rainbird, who also managed to play some senior games, who shares a last name with some former greats was awarded Most Effective Player Award.

Jack Sharp was deemed the Most Improved this season for the reserves, finally for the night Dennis Bird who was announced ‘Best Clubman’ in 2010. Dennis has been involved with the club since David Newett’s time and has been a wonderful asset to the club not only with the Support Staff side of things but also on the Board of Management.

With the losses of Browning, Garvey, Bryce O'Carey, and Hodge to NSW, Glenorchy are going to look to try and recruit big, they have already signed Ben Brown to the club, Ben is the Grandson of Glenorchy great, “Gentleman” Jim Manson, Jim sadly passed away this year, but young Ben who had an injury riddled year, will hopefully bring a new legacy to the Magpies.

He comes down to Glenorchy from another Magpie side in Devonport, continuing a long list of players that have been involved with Glenorchy, and Devonport.
