ECB Announce Squad The ECB have announced the final squad for the 2003 Cricket World Cup in South Africa and Zimbabwe. The only notable omission is Surrey fast bowler Alex Tudor, axed in favour of Sussex's Paul Hutchison, an almost unknown left-armer. This is the last hurrah at international level for Graeme Hick, a perrenial under achiever, and Alec Stewart who is the opposite. Nasser Hussain will also retire from the England ODI captaincy after the World Cup. We all hope that England can reach the Super Six stage of the tournament, which they haven't done in many years. England have an easy start this year, and will hope to register three wins out of three before they play Pakistan.
